Welcome Home

Hi I am Shivaji! welcome to my bloghouse which I have renamed as "Homecoming". Although I do not lay tall claims to the attractiveness of this blog-space...in fact i wanted it as a space where can express freely and also let others who are attracted to my thoughts (whatever little I have) values (howsoever minimalistic) and beliefs (howsover trivial) to comment and question on what I have written.
But before all this it would be prudent enough to introduce myself! Where do i start?...well here goes (I will try and make this as short as possible....)

Born on 18th March 1977 in a Bengali middle class family which had migrated to India from Bangladesh or East Pakistan or East Bengal (how does it matter anyways!) during the Indian Holocaust of 1947 I am the only child of my parents Gauri and Nibaran. Brought up amongst numerous stories of our glorious past as the zamindars of Moulvi Bazaar in Sylhet (East Bengal/East Pakistan/Bangladesh) and also stories of how my grandfather owing to his "leftist" allegiance drove us (my father and his brothers and sister) to penury, I grew up with a trifle confused take on what is right and what is wrong! I almost managed to derail my academic career with a not so flamboyant performance during my 11th class and 12th class (well I am trying to be eloquent about it...I almost managed to fail in a couple of subjects and so "pathetic" would be a better word!). I did my Bachelors in English because at that point of time nothing gave me more solace and succour than the language and the love of it and then went on to do my Masters in Social work from Jamia Millia Islamia in 2001.

Well my life reviolves around Kavita my wife, and our two lovely little children Jia (2 years) and Nyssha (5 months) and my parents.

I know!.... I know!... there are a lot of yawning gaps in the story....but thats exactly what I am going to document in this blogspot....so happy reading for allhapless unfortunate souls who manage to come across this blog by accident or by design but as far as I am concerned ........ I am going to relive those precious string of moments which I have been so far referring to as "my life"...and therefore the name - "HOMECOMING".
